I have not been updating my blog as often as I should, so here are some new entries! My mind is on everything but school: (
I recently WWOOF France (= WWOOF World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). I fle watch descriptions of the farms with goats and e-mailing farmers. I found a farm in Brittany quie like particularly. The name of the farm is "organic Kerjean Area" and is located at Finistere. An elderly couple manages the farm, their names are Jean-Yves and Michele.
Here is the description of their farm: "We restart the past three years on a farm in organic farming that my husband had already cultivated bio for ten years before we met in 2002. This farm is located in Brittany, in Finistère between Quimper and Brest, 5 km from Pleyben and comprises about 50 hectares. We grow grain and transform a portion of wheat bread in the oven that we built of pink bricks (cooking the old). We raise sheep for their wool and meat (although we are more vegetarians!) Goats and produce cheese, chickens and all their family members (of the egg and chick chick chicken or the rooster). We grow fruit trees, shrubs and berries cook excellent jams. Our garden gives us some vegetables. We sell at the market three times a week. Apart from that we have a passion for natural healing and herbs. We also redevelop some buildings of the farm to make this place a welcoming place, regeneration in contact with Nature and Animals, personal development ... We would be happy to share the varied activities of the field with WWOOFers happy to celebrate life in truth and simplicity of heart. Cheers, Michele and Jean-Yves. French, English (some) - some notions of German and Spanish - spoken. "
I sent them an e-mail and they told me that I am basically welcome at any time. After I work on the dairy goat farm in Georgia this summer I am not sure what my next step will be. I hope I can go to France shortly afterwards and work on a farm or become an au pair. Oh, I do not know yet!
More coming this weekend ...
